Underpinning

Underpins are structural steel piles designed to safely and permanently transfer the weight of a structure to competent limestone. They are used to stabilize a structure or to return it to its original elevation. They are typically installed every 6 feet around the perimeter of a structure. They may also be installed to support interior load bearing walls or floor slabs

An underpin consists of a bracket and a tubular steel pile. The pile sections are inserted into the ground by means of a hydraulic push. The drive rams used by GEO-LOGICAL, Inc. are capable of pushing with 63,600 pounds of force, although the actual force used is dependent upon the load of the structure acting as resistance to the hydraulic push.

Every underpinning project completed by GEO-LOGICAL, Inc. is backed with our industry leading limited lifetime warranty.
