Injection Piers

Injection Piers

Grouted injection piers are a hybrid of Compaction Grouting and Underpinning. In the Injection Pier process, perforated underpins are hydraulically advanced to competent bearing limestone. Once the piers have been installed an internal sleeve is advanced to the bottom of the perforated underpin. At this point, compaction grout is pumped into the soil and line pressures are constantly monitored to ensure that weak soils are restored and the structure is permanently stabilized.

It is important to note that the grout pumped serves two purposes. The first is to clog solution channels and seal the surface of the limestone and the second is to provide additional lateral stability for the perforated underpin. This allows grouted injection piers to be installed at an outstanding value when compared with compaction grouting and underpinning separately.

Every Grouted injection Pier project completed by GEO-LOGICAL, INC. is protected by our industry leading lifetime, transferable warranty.
